Narcotics investigation in Wallingford leads to arrest of CT woman

A woman suspected to have been selling drugs from a hotel in Wallingford was arrested on Sunday when police pulled her over and allegedly found her with multiple types of drugs.

Madeline Dominello, 40, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia, according to Chief John Ventura of the Wallingford Police Department.

Ventura said the arrest came after the police department established the Crime Suppression Unit to help address “complex street-level offenses” in “more intricate cases.” The unit began investigating after learning that a woman staying at the Homewood Suites was allegedly involved in selling illegal drugs.

During the investigation, unit members conducted surveillance at the hotel and identified the individual as Dominello, according to Ventura. Investigators obtained a search and seizure warrant for Dominello before pulling her over on Route 68 in a red Subaru, Ventura said.

During the stop, a police K-9 alerted police to the smell of narcotics in the vehicle, according to Ventura. Police then allegedly found 12 grams of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and clonazepam, Ventura said.

Dominello was taken into custody and transported to the Wallingford Police Department. Police found that she also had four warrants out for her arrest charging her with three counts of second-degree failure to appear and one count of violation of probation.

Dominello’s bond was set at $74,000. She is set to face a judge on Feb. 13.
