Police are investigating after finding a dead dog in a trash bag in New London over the weekend.
The animal was found when New London Animal Control responded to a report of a dead dog in a trash bag in the area of Gallows Lane and Williams Street on Saturday just before 2 p.m., according to Chief Brian M. Wright of the New London Police Department.
Wright described the animal as a “compact, toy-sized dog” that was tan and black. The animal was spotted by a passing motorist.
The incident remains under investigation.
