A man died after a shooting Wednesday in Allentown, according to officials.

The man, 24, was shot about 5:30 p.m. in the 100 block of North Eighth Street, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.

He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead about 45 minutes later, the coroner said. His death was ruled a homicide. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
