Father unleashes on Patrick Mahomes after son denied autograph, awkward exchange ensues

Two-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes is one of the stars of the Netflix series “Quarterback.” The show documents Mahomes’ recent football season, but it also highlights his role of being a proud father to his son.

When Mahomes declined to sign an autograph for a young fan at American Century Championship, an awkward exchange with a fellow father ensued on the golf course. Mahomes, who has appeared at the celebrity golf event multiple times, was apparently asked to stop signing so many autographs during one of his rounds.

“They told me I can’t do anymore … I was signing stuff, and they said I was taking too long,” Mahomes told a group of fans.

Despite the autograph signings apparently disrupting the pace of play, Mahomes seemed more than happy to continue signing as much as he could. “Thought we were having a good time,” the Kansas City Chiefs star said.

CHIEFS’ PATRICK MAHOMES RENTED AIRBNB THREE MONTHS BEFORE SUPER BOWL

However, Mahomes’ situation did not stop the dad from taking exception to his son not landing the coveted signature. “Mr. Mahomes, will you sign my jersey when you’re done?” the young fan was heard asking Mahomes.

The quarterback seemed to reply by saying, “Can’t sign for everyone … can’t make everybody happy.” The dad countered by saying, “Yeah, you can … you can just make one kid happy out of a hundred.”

Mahomes then responded with “I’ll make 99 sad.”

“That’s alright … one out of 99, at least it ain’t zero percent,” the father said.

After the exchange, Mahomes seemed to get right back into the flow of his golf game.

Now that the golf event and the uncomfortable situation are over, Mahomes’ focus will likely be trying to repeat as Super Bowl champs. The Chiefs have made it to the title game three times in the last four seasons and are widely expected to once again be one of the best teams in the AFC this upcoming season.

Everybody’s motivated by that,” Mahomes said earlier this week as he reported to training camp.

“You should be motivated to do it again. When you have that parade, when you go through the offseason that I’ve been through, you want to do it again,” Mahomes said.

The Chiefs defeated the Eagles in February in a thrilling Super Bowl LVII. Three years ago, Kansas City dominated the San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl LIV. They advanced to Super Bowl LV the following year but suffered a 31-9 loss to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

Despite experiencing a significant amount of success in recent season, Mahomes said he plans on doing what he can to keep the team motivated.

“This time, I think I’m going to try to really push and motivate guys to continue to try to get better, even though we’re winning football games,” Mahomes said. “Let’s not be satisfied with just winning [but also] finding ways to get better every single week.”

Jets head coach reluctantly welcomes ‘Hard Knocks’ with sarcastic wardrobe selection

The New York Jets have no choice but to accept their “Hard Knocks” fate.

Gang Green was one of four teams that were able to be forced into the annual HBO show, although they were previously adamant they didn’t want to be on.

Last week, it was announced they would be the featured organization on the program, initially much to their dismay.

But it seems like head coach Robert Saleh has had a change of heart.

Just one month ago, Saleh told reporters that “several teams … would love for ‘Hard Knocks’ to be in their building – we’re just not one of them.”

However, in New York’s first day of training camp in Florham Park, Saleh welcomed the cameras with his wardrobe.

“I (green heart) HK,” read his black shirt.

“Just talking with ‘Hard Knocks,’ they’ve got a great group of people working with us,” Saleh said after practice Thursday. “We expressed some of our concerns and they answered it. And, you know, it’s going to be fine.”

Even last week, new quarterback Aaron Rodgers – assumed to be the big draw for the show – said it was “forced … down our throats.”

FORMER EAGLE SAYS HE ‘CAN’T STAND’ ‘F—ING OBNOXIOUS’ PHILADELPHIANS

But even he’s warming up to it all.

“I’m excited about people getting to see what we’re all about here,” he told reporters.

The Jets did reportedly speak with HBO about some of the crew’s access, and the show could have a different look.

“‘Hard Knocks’ will not be the same because they’re not going to be given the same access. The Jets don’t believe it’s humane to show players being released,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said earlier this week. “The Jets are not going to provide the level of cooperation that the [Detroit] Lions provided last year or that other teams have provided in other years.”

No matter where the cameras are allowed to go, and no matter how much the Jets don’t want HBO there, the show will premiere on Aug. 8.

The Associated Press and Fox News’ Paulina Dedaj contributed to this report.

Jason Aldean’s wife Brittany praises fans for standing by singer during ‘Small Town’ backlash

Jason Aldean’s wife Brittany is standing by her husband’s side.

After Aldean’s new single, “Try That In A Small Town,” sparked backlash, Brittany reacted on her social media and thanked fans for their support.

“Man do we love y’all. Free thinkers, lions not sheep… thankful for the support, always!” she wrote on her Instagram Wednesday.

The comments section quickly filled with support from the Aldeans’ loyal fans

“I stand with Jason Aldean,” one comment read with an American flag emoji.

Another Instagram user quipped, “Brittany Aldean for president.”

COUNTRY SINGER JASON ALDEAN ANGERS LIBERAL ACTIVISTS WITH ANTI-CRIME, PRO-GUN SONG ABOUT 2020 RIOTS

“A power couple, speaking out for our COUNTRY and our children, I can never thank y’all enough for allowing the rest of us lions to start showing up and showing OUT!” one fan passionately wrote.

Brittany shared her thoughts on Instagram with a photo of her dressed in a yellow two-piece outfit.

She also took to her social media to post a screenshot showing Jason Aldean’s song and music video ranking No. 1 on the music charts. Brittany added a fire emoji to the Instagram Story.

Her posts come after Country Music Television (CMT) pulled Jason’s “Try That In A Small Town” music video from their platform. CMT confirmed to Fox News Digital on Tuesday that the clip was pulled from its rotation but did not provide more context for the decision.

“Try That In A Small Town” was released in May, and the lyrics speak to small towns not putting up with riots and lawlessness many cities have faced in recent years.

Some of the lyrics in the song, included in Aldean’s forthcoming, as-yet-untitled album, include, “Got a gun that my granddad gave me / They say one day they’re gonna round up / Well, that s— might fly in the city, good luck / Try that in a small town / See how far ya make it down the road / You cross that line, it won’t take long / For you to find out, I recommend you don’t / Try that in a small town.”

Scenes from the music video were shot outside the Maury County Courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee, where an 18-year-old Black man named Henry Choate was lynched in 1927. The courthouse was also a pivotal site during the Columbia race riot in 1946.

JASON ALDEAN ADDRESSES CRITICISM OF CONTROVERSIAL COUNTRY MUSIC VIDEO: ‘THIS ONE GOES TOO FAR’

On Wednesday, the production company for the music video, TackleBox, confirmed the music video was shot at Maury County Courthouse, adding that it is a “popular filming location outside of Nashville.” Several music videos and movies have filmed there, including the Lifetime Original movie “Steppin’ into the Holiday” with Mario Lopez and Jana Kramer.

In its statement, the company said, “Any alternative narrative suggesting the music video’s location decision is false,” and noted that Aldean did not pick the location.

In the wake of the music video being pulled and general outcry over the song, Aldean took to social media on Tuesday to speak out.

“In the past 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests,” Aldean shared with his nearly 8 million followers across social media.

“These references are not only meritless, but dangerous,” he said in part. “There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it – and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage – and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music – this one goes too far.”

Meanwhile, regarding the music video, Aldean’s wife, Brittany, previously offered her support on social media, sharing a selfie of the couple while on the beach and writing, “Never apologize for speaking the truth.”

She also went on her Instagram Stories, writing, “Media… it’s the same song and dance. Twist everything you can to fit your repulsive narrative. How about instead of creating stories, we focus on the REAL ones such as CHILD TRAFFICKING? Food for thought.”

Jason and Brittany got married in March 2015. The couple shares two children together – Memphis and Navy – while Jason also has two daughters from his previous marriage to Jessica Ussery.
