CEO Of Worldcoin Says “Something Like World ID Will Eventually Exist… Whether You Like It Or Not”

Authored by Didi Rankovic via ReclaimTheNet.org,

Right now, it’s about those who voluntarily surrender their biometric data and receive “small sums” in Worldcoin in return for signing up to the World ID scheme.

But if Open AI CEO Sam Altman has anything to say about how Worldcoin, a project within his company, develops – everyone who wants to use the internet will eventually be required to use World ID – or “something like it.”

And right now, it seems that people in several southern European countries, notably Spain and Portugal, are simply itching to give away their iris biometrics as proof of identity and right to a cryptocurrency transfer wallet.

The signup process involves exposing your eyes to what’s known as Worldcoin’s Orb iris scanners.

If reports are to be believed, the uptake in Spain, where the scheme first became available a year ago, is better than elsewhere – 150,000 participants in total, 20,000 new ones each day, and Barcelona is the place where a number of Orb scanners will be installed.

Portugal is not far behind, with 120,000 participants, and Germany is said to also be warming up to the project, ever since it started expanding two months ago.

All in all, some 2 million “biometric credentials” are now operated by Worldcoin.

Why do people sign up for it?

“Something like World ID will eventually exist, meaning that you will need to verify [you are human] on the internet, whether you like it or not,” Blania said.

“Whether you like it or not” are the “sweet” words everyone does (not) like to hear in connections with something like that, but that is what Worldcoin CEO Alex Blania decided to go for when describing the future.

In it, according to Blania, digital ID will be so prevalent that it will become inevitable, and there will be no escaping verifying the quality of being human (and likely, quite a few more things) online – if one wants to be online at all.

And whether one “likes it or not.” Blania links it to “progress” in “AI,” and predicts this will be happening as soon as within a couple of years.

Remember when you thought CAPTCHA were bad for your privacy, and for the way they effectively outsource your labor? Well now CAPTCHA’s are apparently considered outdated, as new iterations of “AI” is showing us the way to the brave new world.

Jamie Raskin says Hunter Biden ‘exercising his Second Amendment rights’ in jab at Republicans

Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., described Hunter Biden as a “rich guy exercising his Second Amendment rights” in a jab at House Republicans during their hearing Wednesday of IRS whistleblowers alleging misconduct in investigations into the Biden family.

The House Oversight Committee interviewed two IRS whistleblowers alleging political misconduct throughout the Hunter Biden investigation: special agent Joseph Ziegler, whose identity was revealed during the hearing, and his IRS supervisor Gary Shapley, who previously blew the whistle on alleged political influence surrounding prosecutorial decisions throughout the years-long federal probe into the president’s son.

Raskin, the committee’s ranking Democratic member, described the Republicans as hypocritical during his opening statement and said Hunter Biden “received no special treatment.”

BIDEN AMBASSADOR ADVISED HUNTER ON HELPING ROMANIAN TYCOON ACCUSED OF CORRUPTION

Raskin accused “MAGA Republicans” of taking the side of “IRS agents from the deep state against a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney and a rich guy exercising his Second Amendment rights but now facing criminal gun charges and tax charges that they would call in any other circumstance purely technical.”

“If my GOP colleagues think that the treatment of millions of tax scofflaws or even the handful who face criminal prosecution like Hunter Biden is too lenient, I invite them to join us Democrats in supporting the $80 billion in funding for the IRS that we passed in the Inflation Reduction Act last year,” he continued. “This money will enable the IRS to make long overdue improvements in customer service, but will also enable the agency to restore lost capabilities and enforcement to identify and prosecute tax cheats.”

“But the very first thing House Republicans did this Congress was vote to rescind that funding while disparaging these future IRS employees who will do the same kind of work today’s witnesses do,” he added.

In addition to pleading guilty to two misdemeanor tax violations, Hunter Biden has agreed to enter into a pretrial diversion agreement regarding a separate charge of possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful controlled substance user or addict.

Ziegler, a gay Democrat with more than a dozen years serving within the IRS’ criminal investigative division, appeared for the first time publicly Wednesday, while Shapley testified last month.

The whistleblowers allege that officials at the Justice Department, FBI and IRS interfered in the investigation into Hunter Biden, and that decisions in the case were influenced by politics.

Fox News’ Brooke Singman contributed to this report.
