A pedestrian was seriously injured when they were hit by a car on Route 15 in Westport on Monday morning.

The crash was reported at 4:15 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway in the area of Exit 42 where crews responded to a car versus pedestrian collision, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police said serious injuries were reported.

The agency’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad responded to the scene to investigate.

The collision left Route 15 South closed while crews were at the scene.
