GOP primary candidates must agree to loyalty pledge in order to debate, RNC chair says

Any candidate who wants to take part in the GOP’s first primary debate in Milwaukee later this year will have to sign a pledge promising to support whoever wins the nomination, Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel said Sunday.

“We’re saying you’re not going to get on the debate stage unless you make this pledge,” McDaniel said during an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.” McDaniel, who recently won her fourth term as RNC chair after a contentious battle against Harmeet Dhillon, said that Republican voters are tired of “infighting” within the party, and “want to see us come together.”

So far, three prominent candidates have entered the GOP presidential primary — former President Donald Trump, former Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley and conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. More are expected to join the race, potentially including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

McDaniel said she expects all candidates who decided to join what may become a crowded race to sign the pledge, describing it as “a no-brainer.”

“If you’re going to be on the Republican National Committee debate stage asking voters to support you, you should say, I’m going to support the voters and who they choose as the nominee,” McDaniel said.

But earlier this month, Trump told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt his support for the GOP candidate in the general election would depend on who the nominee was.

McDaniel, however, said she believes the former president will sign the pledge. “I think they all want to be on the debate stage. I think President Trump would like to be on the debate stage. That’s what he likes to do. And I expect they will all be there.”

Prince William jokes of ‘tense journey home’ with Kate Middleton after supporting opposing rugby teams

Although they stood side by side, Prince William and Kate Middleton could not be further apart at the Six Nations rugby match between Wales and England in Cardiff on Saturday, as they cheered for opposing teams.

The Prince of Wales is a patron of the Welsh Rugby Union while the Princess of Wales is a patron of the English Rugby Union, a responsibility previously designated to Prince Harry.

The future monarchs of the United Kingdom matched in bright red attire as they watched from the stands.

Ahead of the competition, William and Kate met with injured players aided by the Welsh Charitable Trust, where they alluded to a little friendly competition.

At the event, Prince William joked “it’s going to be a very tense journey home,” per the BBC. “If we win today my wife won’t speak to me. It will be a tense evening.”

Luckily for William, Kate’s team reigned victorious, beating Wales 20-10.

The princess, for her part, was most excited about the environment for the game, sharing “The atmosphere is always second-to-none, so I’m looking forward to that.”

Inside the gathering, the couple was photographed holding meaningful conversations as well as laughing with the group ahead of the unveiling of the new Sir Tasker Watkins Suite. The space is meant to be utilized by injured players, as well as their families, before matches.

Last year, William and Kate brought their eldest son and the future King of England, George along with them to the Six Nations event. Although not in attendance on Saturday, the royal couple discussed their son’s involvement with the sport, revealing George is learning how to tackle.

“Because he is tall, he has the physique,” Kate shared. “But then there is Louis coming. Charlotte also does rugby.”

Volodymyr Zelenskyy predicts Putin will fall to own people: Russians will ‘find a reason to kill the killer’

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime will fall to an uprising from his own people, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy predicted this week.

Zelenskyy made the comments in a new documentary filmed to mark the one-year anniversary of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, which passed on Thursday. In it, Zelenskyy predicts that the Russian people will “find a reason” to overthrow Putin’s regime.

“There will certainly be a moment when the fragility of Putin’s regime is felt in Russia,” Zelenskyy says in the documentary, according to Business Insider. “Then carnivores will eat the carnivore. It is very important, and they will need a reason to justify this. They will recall the words of Komarov, of Zelenskyy. They will remember. They will find a reason to kill the killer.”

“Will it work? Yes. When? I don’t know,” he added.

REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK: UKRAINE WAR ONE YEAR ON, HUMAN TRAGEDIES AND TRIUMPHS

Zelenskyy went on to say Putin has a very “narrow circle” of people he trusts, arguing the Russian leader is in “isolation” and “doesn’t know what to do.”

Ukraine warned for months that Russia was planning to renew its offensive sometime around the one-year anniversary of its invasion.

“Yes, it will be tough, and we have to be ready for it. We must maintain maximum calm,” Oleksiy Danilov, the head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, told Ukrainian TV earlier in February, according to The Wall Street Journal.

U.S. defense officials have agreed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s warnings, saying it is likely Putin will try an offensive in an effort to turn the tables after months of Ukraine regaining territory.

“The situation on the front line is complicated,” Zelenskyy said in a sit-down interview with Fox News’ Trey Yingst earlier in February. “Russia is preparing for the rematch. We can feel this. I believe that it has already started or not fully. We will see that in the nearest weeks.”

Ukrainian forces are killing nearly 1,000 Russian troops each day in the conflict, and they eliminated 5,000 troops in a single battle in late January, according to U.K. officials citing data from Ukraine.

The Most Violent Cities In The World

Out of the world’s 50 most violent cities, 38 are in Latin America including 17 in Mexico.

The Mexico Citizens Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice releases its findings on the homicide rate in cities with populations over 300,000 around the world every year.

Statista’s Katharina Buchholz shows in the following infographic, the world’s top 10 most violent cities, with Mexican city Colima in first place and New Orleans in the U.S. state of Louisiana ranking eighth.

You will find more infographics at Statista

Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, had ranked first in previous editions, but due to the situation in the country, data is no longer available. The majority of the violence in Latin America can be attributed to drug trafficking, gang warfare and political instability.

Another country that appears among the top 50 is Brazil at ten cities, the highest ranked being Mossoró in the country’s North in the 11th spot.

Also featured on the list frequently are Colombia (six cities starting from Cali in rank 32) and South Africa (four cities, including Cape Town and two more ranked in the top 20).

The continental United States racks up seven mentions in total. Other than New Orleans, Baltimore (rank 17), Detroit (rank 23), Memphis (rank 25), Cleveland (rank 27), Milwaukee (rank 39) and Philadelphia (rank 46) make the list.

San Juan in Puerto Rico can be found in rank 41.

Watch: Polish Media Accidentally Captures Zelensky’s Body Double On Camera

Six months ago Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky suggested to western media outlets that Vladimir Putin “might be dead” or that he was fighting health problems, and that the Russian government was using a body double to fool the public.

Ironically, it is Zelensky that appears to have been caught using a body double on camera by the Polish media during Joe Biden’s surprise visit to Ukraine.

The footage seems to have been accidental, but it does reinforce the old adage – When the establishment accuses you of doing something, it’s actually a confession of what they are doing.

Now, if only someone can capture evidence that Biden is being controlled remotely by ChatGPT, the “Russian bot” narrative can come full circle…
